The State of My Hair

Last week, I went in for a relaxer after stretching for 4 months. I went home afterwards to find the hair in the middle and back of my head had completely broken off. All gone. I broke down and cried. I cried all day. I didn't attend any of my classes. I almost didn't go to work. I dropped my flat iron and it broke. So for the past few days I've been walking around looking like WHO-SHOT-JOHNNY-AND-FORGOT-TO-KILL-HIM. I am debating whether or not to cut the rest of my hair off or rock a wig/weave until my hair grows back. I think its time for a new look anyway. I really want to cut my hair in a short style but I am so scared. I always had long hair and I really don't know how a short cut would look on me. I really like the cut Meagan Good been sporting lately. If I do cut my hair I think this is the style I'll get:

Any of you guys experienced hair breakage? What did you do to nourish your hair back to health?

  1. I think that look would look good on you. I see your profile pic and the megan one, and really, I think so. I just cut mine off. I have decided to stop relaxing my hair because of the same thing, plus, I don't really need it, so I'll just deep condition and keep it blow dried. I am happy with the cut. It used to be half way down my back. Never go that long without relaxing your hair unless you're planning on weaning off of it. Hope your spirits are higher. Hugs*

  2. Thanks Cindia! i thought stretching my relaxers would do more good than harm. I just started getting relaxers two years ago, and i regret doing it. But I am going to get the cut and I'll see what happens from there. Its just hair. It'll grow back =).

  3. I had a lil similar problem. After colouring my hair I waited 2months to relax it. As soon as I did, all the hair around my head was on the floor... So I decided to cut it all off like amber... and its been two months now and my hair is grown, healthy and I take more care of it. by summer I should be able to do a ponytail. And trust me I will never relax my hair again.

  4. I like the Meagan Good look. I had a similar problem, and I've been rocking weaves and theyre growing my hair nicely. Personally, the weaves have been working for me. Lol don't relax your hair girl, the immediate results look beautiful but the long term results are trifflin'.
